PhyllisYoung Last but not least is my friend Phyllis Young. Phyllis Young is the daughter of James Kerby "A" 455thAAA. Phyllis became active in the 455th in 2001 and has stepped up in so many ways since then. If she hadn't called me and asked me to help her with hosting the 455th reunions, they would never have continued after Alan. Since then, Phyllis and I have worked to promote the 455th and to try to present the best reunions for and about the men of the 455th. She contributes financially and physically. You should see our letters that go back and forth before a reunion. Her father is James and I envy their close relationship. She is so lucky to still have James. Below is a picture of us at

"Ever since I became actively involved with the 455th Reunion, I have gotten such a blessing at each reunion. The love between these vets and their families for each other just touches my heart more than I can say. I watch the expressions on their faces when they see each other for the first time since the previous reunion. The happiness on their faces and twinkle in their yes tell a story. It will nearly bring one to tears. They are just so glad to have that "one more reunion" together. It seems each year, we lose more and more of our vets. I think I read that it is 1000 per day. I think this is why each one wonders, "Will I be the one missing next year, or will it be my dear friend?" So, that is why each and every reunion that they can make is such a blessing to them. For the vets that no longer can travel alone to the reunions, we are so very grateful to their children and grandchildren that bring them. We enjoy having every single one that can come. They are a joy to everyone." - Phyllis Young
