THE 455TH AAA TRIPSTERS LEAVE
FOR ENGLAND to dedicate their memorial in Watton, Norfolk & East Anglia,
England
I
had dreamed of this trip for ever so long and now the time was finally
here. Alan Hollister had done an absolutely terrific job in making sure
that all of us arrived at Gatwick in London within an hour of each other.
I had been collecting money for the the donations since last August...
not really that long ago. We had found Brett Memorials in Watton to actually
make the memorial, and I had called Tony Brooks frantically in May asking
for help with the actual preparation of the grounds itself. I knew that
Tom Feise was working around the clock... full time job and making the
arrangements for this trip also. Anyway, Tom needed help with this sort
of thing, and Tony and Tracey were willing to help him out. Thank goodness
for them! Tom had everything else ready for the arrival here. There were
many times I questioned the sanity of this whole thing. Being so far away
was a real problem, and I had to rely on my "Limey friends"
for everything. and they really came through. Thank you, Tom, Tony and
Tracey for the fantastic job on your side of the Atlantic.
