Battalion moves to Stiffkey Firing Range for firing practice.

Batalion was assigned under secret Orders to Third US Army but was attached to IX Air Defense Command until it moved to France.
19 May
Battalion moved to operational sites of the IX Air Defense Command. Hq. and D Btry's at Rivenhall Airdrome, "A" Btry at Earls Colne Airdrome, "B" Btry at Boreham Airdrome, and "C" Btry at Dinton supply dump.
22 May
Battalion was secretly assigned to VIII Corps.
June 20
Battalion moved to Assembly Area at Orchard Leigh, near Frome, Somerset.
July 3
Battalion moved to staging area at Dorchester, England.
July 5
Btry "D", with parts of Batteries B & C embarked at Portland, England.
July 6
Btry "D" and parts of Batteries B & C landed on Utah Beach, Normandy, France.
July 7
Balance of Bn. embarked at Portland, England.
July 8
Balance of Bn. landed on Utah Beach, Normandy, France. Battery "D", borrowing equipment from B & C Batteries to replace landing losses, is attached to 537th AAA AW Bn., and is first Btry. of the Battalion in action.
July 6 - 11
Battalion, less "D" Btry, assembled near Le Russeau for de-waterproofing and preparation of equipment for action.
July 12
Btry D rejoined Bn. Bn. moved into positions north of La Haye Du Puits, relieving the 449th AAA Bn.
